BILLIE PIPER teamed up with London mayor KEN LIVINGSTONE last night – to turn on the city’s REGENT STREET Christmas lights.
Crowds lined the streets as Piper turned on the annual decorations in central London, commenting in a statement afterwards that: “I love the great vibe in Regent Street when the whole world is out rushing about trying to get presents and I am delighted that I am here to switch the lights on in the Millennium year.”
Livingstone added: “I have just finished a committee meeting on waste materials so it is a delight to now be meeting a pop star like Billie.”
In the run-up to yesterday’s switch-flicking, NME.COM published a warning to Billie and the other pop stars intending to turn on lights this Christmas. To find out more about the potential dangers of electricity, click here.
