Teen star Billie Piper is due to leave hospital today (June 19) after collapsing during a night out at the weekend.
The 17-year-old singer passed out in Bar 38 in London’s Covent Garden on Friday (June 16). She had been returning to her table from the bathroom. A recurrence of a kidney infection has been blamed.
Billie was treated with antibiotics and kept in for observation.
In a statement yesterday the singer said: “It all came as a bit of a shock. One minute, I’m having fun with my friends, the next I’m being carried to a car by a bouncer.”
Billie scored her third number one with her comeback single ‘Day & Night’ in May.
The star is set to release her second as yet untitled album during September. As previously revealed on nme.com, it will be have less of a pure pop theme than her 1998 debut ‘Honey To The B’.
