Last year, Smashing Pumpkins released ‘Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol.1/ LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun’, an album NME called “a showcase in artful songcraft.”
It was the band’s first full-length album in over 18 years to feature founding members Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin. Longtime guitarist Jeff Shroeder, bassist Jack Bates, and keyboardist Katie Cole also played on the record.
The band also reunited for several shows last year to celebrate their 30th anniversary. They were joined by special guests including Courtney Love, Deftones‘ Chino Moreno, and Joy Division and New Order‘s Peter Hook at one such show in New Jersey last August.
