BJORK has been nominated for BEST EUROPEAN ACTRESS at the 2000 EUROPEAN FILM AWARDS for her performance in LARS VON TRIER’s ‘DANCER IN THE DARK’.
The Icelandic star, who has already won the coveted Palme D’Or for best actress at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, is in the same category as ‘Billy Elliot’ actress Julie Walters.
In addition to the nomination, Bjork may also be in the running for the ‘People’s Choice’ award, where fans vote online for their favourite performance. Voting for that category has now closed.
Bjork will find out if she has won the award at a ceremony in Paris on December 2.
The European Film Awards are a celebration of European cinema organised by the European Film Academy. In addition to the awards, the event will feature discussions, workshops, and the annual EFA lecture.
