The Icelandic songstress returns from her successful acting stint with a "gentle, humorous, happy and kind" record...

BJORK’s new album ‘VESPERTINE’ is set for release in the UK on May 21.

According to the Bjork website [url=], the Icelandic singer will record three new videos in the coming months, and the songs ‘Cocoon’, ‘Hidden Place’ and ‘It’s Not Up To You’ are possible candidates for new singles. Only one other song title has been revealed so far, ‘Harm Of Will’.

As previously reported on NME.COM ‘Vespertine’ is produced by Bjork alongside longtime collaborator and Oasis producer Mark ‘Spike’ Stent.

To coincide with the release, Bjork plans to play live shows in major cities across the world.

Speaking previously about ‘Vespertine’, Bjork said: “It’s gone really well, it feels very exciting. It’s definitely a place I’ve never been in before. It seems like an actual continuity of all the places I’ve been!”

“I guess the only thing I can say is that because I held my breath…the selfish side of me, for three years, a lot of things are gushing out that are the opposite of the film (‘Dancer In The Dark’). The film was very harsh, quite dark, emotionally brutal. So I guess what I am doing now has got a tendency to be the opposite, which I guess is gentle, humorous, happy and kind.”
