BJORK was voted European Actress of the Year at the EUROPEAN FILM AWARDS in PARIS on Saturday (December 2).

She scooped the title of top actress for her role as Selma in ‘Dancer In The Dark’, which was awarded the top accolade of European Film of the Year.

The movie has already won a string of awards, including the Palme D’Or at Cannes Film Festival.

Bjork beat off competition from ‘Billy Elliot’ star Julie Walters, French actress Sylvie Testud (‘La Captive’), Swede Lena Endre (‘Trolosa’ and German Bibiana Beglau (‘Die Stille Nach Dem Schuss’).

Director Lars Von Trier was also chosen as Best European Director and Bjork Best European Actress in the People’s Choice category, which was voted for by the public online.
