Black Sabbath, Soundgarden and Refused head up final day of Download

The three day Donington Park metal festival comes to an end today (June 10)

Black Sabbath, Soundgarden and Refused are all set to play Download Festival today (June 10).

Black Sabbath warmed up for Download with a set at Birmingham’s O2 Academy last month. Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, and Geezer Butler, were joined by drummer Tommy Clufetos – the replacement for original sticksman Bill Ward – to blaze through a career spanning set, hinting at tonight’s possible setlist. Sabbath’s only other show this summer will be at Lollapalooza in Chicago (August 3-5).

They plan to tour next year and recently revealed to NME that they have 15 new songs written for a new album, which could be titled ‘2013’.

Also on the bill for Download today are reformed hardcore titans Refused and grunge legends Soundgarden, who will return to the UK to play Hard Rock Calling in London’s Hyde Park next month.

Megadeth, Anthrax and Lamb Of God will also appear on the main stage on the final day of the festival, as well Rise Against, Dropkick Murphys, Ugly Kid Joe and Sebastian Bach elsewhere on the bill.
