Blink-182 frontman has a go at crowd for grabbing crowdsurfer’s bum

"Don't do that" Tom DeLonge tells crowd at intimate New York charity gig

Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge told off crowd members at a tiny New York gig last night (September 11) for “grabbing” the bum of a female crowdsurfer.

The band played a rare intimate show at the 600-capacity Williamsburg Hall of Music in Brooklyn, New York to raise funds for the William Randolph Hearst Burn Center at the New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

The band opened their 22-song set with ‘Feeling This’ from their self-titled 2003 album. “Thanks for coming out tonight,” said Mark Hoppus after ‘Up All Night’. “It’s for a super great cause and I’m glad you’re all here. It’s great to see your beautiful faces.”

During a set which included the classic tracks ‘What’s My Age Again?’, ‘All The Small Things’ and ‘Dammit’, Tom DeLonge said that another band were in the heaving audience. “Our very good friends Matt and Kim are here tonight,” he said, explaining that the Kim Schifino of the Brooklyn duo was among the many fans who were crowdsurfing. He then went on to tell the audience off for “grabbing” her while she was doing so. “You guys were grabbing her butt, don’t do that,” he said.

Later in the show, a fan managed to get onstage during ‘Man Overboard’ and briefly danced with Hoppus before being wrangled offstage by security. “Please don’t kick her out. Do you have to kick her out?” Hoppus pleaded with the guards who were about to eject her from the venue. The fan was allowed to stay.

Towards the end of the set, during ‘Ghost On The Dancefloor’, Hoppus sang a snippet of Kelis’ ‘Milkshake’. “That’s just for you guys – I’m not giving that shit to Philadelphia tomorrow.” The band play Pennsylvania tonight (September 12) before headlining Riot Fest in Chicago over the weekend, alongside Pixies, Blondie and Fall Out Boy. They are set to release a new album next year.
