Tom DeLonge says he isn’t done with Blink-182

“We DO have a future together”

Ex-Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge has clarified he still has a future with the band, if they can make that “special something” happen again.

The band have recently released their comeback single ‘Bored To Death’, featuring Alkaline Trio vocalist Matt Skiba and have an album titled ‘California’ coming later this year.

Posting on Facebook, 40-year-old DeLonge who is currently directing a movie and working with his band Angels And Airwaves, said:

“I understand all the craziness out there in Internet-land, it is an odd time for fans of the Blink-182 legacy, I know- it’s odd for me, too.

“We DO have a future together if we want it, but for now we are busy doing separate things.”

“I look forward to my upcoming film and music adventures, and a hell of a lot more…

Maybe throw in a bit of Blink-182, if we can build back that ‘special something’ that was once there.”

DeLonge also said he didn’t agree with the new direction Blink-182 have taken their music, siting their choice of 5 Seconds of Summer producer, John Feldmann as “too far a change” and an example of their current musical differences.

DeLonge previously told NME in 2015 that he still wanted the band to be part of his, despite the fact he hadn’t spoken with bandmates Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus since leaving.

He said: “We haven’t spoken since all that shit’s gone down – but that’s not un-normal.

“The Rolling Stones would go three years without talking to each other, then Mick and Keith would be hugging and saying, ‘Fuck I missed you’. It’s just how it works.”
