Blink-182 to begin working on a new album this Autumn

Bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus says the group are 'excited to get into the studio'

Blink-182 are set to begin work on a new album this Autumn.

In a blog post on his official website – HiMyNameIsMark.com, Bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus told fans that the group would head into the studio after their appearance at California‘s Epicenter Twenty Ten festival in September.

“When the European tour is finished, we head back and play one show in Southern California, then that is if for live shows for the rest of 2010.” Hoppus explained. “Why? Because we’ll be in the studio recording the new Blink-182 album. Until it is finished.”

He added: “I cannot be more clear on this: new Blink-182 music is on the way.”

Set to be the follow-up to 2003’s self-titled LP, the as-yet-untitled studio effort will be the group’s sixth full-length release.

“All of us have ideas from before and after the tour last summer,” Hoppus said. “And are excited to get into the studio and see those ideas come to light. Simple as that.”
