Singer Kele Okereke is hit by coin

Bloc Party‘s Aberdeen gig was halted last night (February 18) after frontman Kele Okereke was hit by a coin.

At the gig at the Music Hall an audience member threw a coin at the singer two songs into the set, during ‘Positive Tension’, forcing the band to leave the stage.

After a short gap Bloc Party returned to finish the show.

A reports on local music scene forum Aberdeen-music.com said: “It was a pretty good gig in the end, but aside from a couple of songs they didn’t look they were having fun and the coin-throwing incident made the rest of the gig feel a bit awkward.”

A spokesperson for the band said Okereke was not seriously hurt.

As previously reported, the band have been added to the line up of the ’Live Earth’ concert on July 7.
