Mika scores album and single double

But Bloc Party whip up a storm

Mika has maintained his top spot on the UK singles chart for another week (February 11) with debut single ‘Grace Kelly’ – and has cause for double celebration seeing his album ‘Life In Cartoon Motion’ go straight to number one on the album countdown.

On the singles chart, he’s nudged close by Kaiser Chiefs who go straight in at number two with ‘Ruby’. There is little other movement on the top 10, except for a new entry at nine for Akon Ft Snoop Dogg with ‘I Wanna Love You’. On the rest of the 20, Kelis nicks in at 13 with ‘Lil Star’, her duet with Gnarls Barkleys’ Cee-Lo while Jessica Simpson enters at 20 with, ironically, a ‘A Public Affair’.

Aside from Mika, Bloc Party will be celebrating. They return with new album ‘A Weekend In The City’ which enters at two, just ahead of Fall Out Boy who enjoy a chart position of three with ‘Infinity On High’.

Klaxons maintain a top 10 spot, sliding slowly to seven with ‘Myths Of The Near Future’.

This week’s top ten singles are:

1. Mika- ‘Grace Kelly’

2. Kaiser Chiefs – ‘Ruby’
