Bloc Party to make first live appearance in two years at Los Angeles festival

This year's FYF Fest will be headlined by Frank Ocean and Morrissey

Bloc Party have confirmed they will play their first gig in two years at FYF Fest in Los Angeles in August.

The band will perform at the event on August 22 before headliner Frank Ocean. Their last live date came in July 2013 when they headlined UK festival Latitude. In March this year, Bloc Party confirmed they have started to record their fifth studio album.

Bloc Party released their most recent record ‘Four’ in 2012, before embarking on a hiatus the following year. The band will have an altered line-up at FYF Fest with bass player Gordon Moakes and drummer Matt Tonge both having left the band.

FYF Festival will take place between August 22-23 at the Exposition Park in Los Angeles with Morrissey confirmed as the event’s other headline act.

Other bands and artists confirmed to appear across the weekend include D’Angelo, Purity Ring, Jesus & Mary Chain, Jon Hopkins, FKA Twigs, Solange, Belle & Sebastian, Mac DeMarco, Deerhunter, Laura Marling, Run The Jewels, Flume, Savages, Simian Mobile Disco and Dinosaur Jr.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow (May 8) at 7PM BST. For more information and updates, view the FYF Festival website.
