Bloc Party have announced that they will play GLASTONBURY 2005.
The band have also revealed that they will be appearing at this year’s Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds festivals.
Singer Kele Okereke told virtualfestivals.com: “2004 was amazing for us and this year should be even better – provided we can stay sane! We’ve been booked to play Glastonbury, which we haven’t done before, and Reading/Leeds.”
He added: “We’re also in talks with T In The Park and Oxegen about playing those.”
As previously reported on NME.COM, Bloc Party are also set to embark on a signing tour of HMV stores later this month to coincide with the ShockWaves NME Awards Tour 2005.
The band will be appearing at four of the tour cities on gig day to sign copies of their new single ‘So Here We Are’, which is released on January 31.
The group’s debut album ‘Silent Alarm’ comes out on February 14.

The ShockWaves NME Awards Tour 2005 kicks off at Northumbria University on January 19 with a bill also featuring The Killers, The Futureheads and Kaiser Chiefs.
