One-off Blood Orange London date announced for February

Dev Hynes to return home to the capital for Village Underground show

Dev Hynes will return to London for a one-off Blood Orange gig at Village Underground in February.

Hynes, who is now based in New York, will perform at the east London venue on February 19. Tickets for the date will be available from Friday, December 13. See below for further details.

To celebrate the announcement of the gig, Hynes has released a track which did not appear on this year’s ‘Cupid Deluxe’ album. Scroll down to hear ‘West Drive’ (Profit Vocal Dub 2) now. Speaking about the track, Hynes says: “There are literally seven versions of this song. This is one of roughly a million cuts that didn’t make it onto the album. Additional vocals are by Samantha Urbani, and instrumentation and production by me.”

Released in November, ‘Cupid Deluxe’ follows Hynes’ 2011 debut under the Blood Orange name. The album includes a number of guest appearances from the likes of David Longstreth (Dirty Projectors), Samantha Urbani (Friends), Clams Casino, Despot, Kindness and Skepta. Caroline Polachek from Chairlift appears on the single ‘Chamakay’.

Hynes has produced music for Solange, Sky Ferreira and MKS, as well as being a former member of Test Icicles and creating music under the Lightspeed Champion name.
