Listen – Nelly Furtado’s collaboration with Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes emerges online

'Hadron Collider' was made available on cassette last month

Blood Orange‘s collaboration with noughties pop star Nelly Furtado has surfaced online after being released on cassette last month.

The tapes were only sold at the Blood Orange and Friends shows in New York’s Harlem in December, with Hynes commenting that it would only be available there “for now”. Disco Naiveté has since shared the a stream of the track.

The collaboration follows Hynes’ work with many other female artists; the list now includes Jessie Ware, Carly Rae Jepsen, Solange, ex-Sugababes group MKS, and Sky Ferreira. Listen below:

In October Blood Orange revealed a new song, titled ‘Sandra’s Smile’, accompanied by a video shot in New York. Directed and edited by the artist himself, the clip features cameos from Junglepussy and Ian Isiah.

He also, earlier in 2015, shared 45 minutes of unreleased music, originally intended for a film score that he had been working on before being fired from the project.

In the YouTube description, Hynes wrote, “I spent the last few months working on a film score, then I got fired. No hard feelings. Here’s some of the music. Listen and zone out if you want to.”
