The Bloodhound Gang were forced to extend an instore signing in LONDON this afternoon after thousands of fans turned up to meet them.

The band were due to sign copies of their new single ‘The Ballad Of Chasey Lain’ at 2.30pm today (August 18) at the Virgin Megastore on Oxford Street.

However, the signing was brought forward to 12 noon to make way for the thousands of fans who had crammed into the store waiting to meet the band. The Bloodhound Gang weren’t expected to finish signing until 4pm this afternoon.

Fans queued for up to three hours to meet the band. One told nme.com: “We’ve been here for two-and-three-quarter hours and it was worth the wait. The Bloodhound Gang just take the piss and don’t take themselves seriously, that’s why we like them!”

A spokesperson for the store could not confirm how many fans had turned up, but unofficial estimates are in the region of 3,000.

As part of the instore, the band picked three members of the public at random and challenged them to pick 26 CDs – one beginning with each letter of the alphabet. The first one back won the CDs he had chosen.

The Bloodhound Gang are confirmed to play at this weekend’s V2000 festival at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Stafford (August 19-20).
