Boyband BLUE have gone straight to the top of the UK single charts today (November 18) seeing ‘IF YOU COME BACK’ knock Westlife to number two and keeping DESTINY’S CHILD at three with ‘EMOTION’.

Lower down the 10, Lighthouse Family enter at six with ‘Free’ while rap newcomer Bubba Sparxxx debuts a place behind at seven with ‘Ugly’. Afroman, Alicia

Keys, So Solid Crew and DJ Otzi bulk up the rest of the 10.

The only other entry on the top 20 comes at 12 from Blu Cantrell with ‘Hit ‘Em Up Style (Oops)’, while NME favourites White Stripes score a top 30 success at 26 with ‘Hotel Yorba’. Ladies First enter at 30 with Messin.

The bigger battle this week was fought in the album chart. Westlife have pipped Madonna’s second greatest hits set to the top spot with third album ‘World Of Our Own’. Christmas is coming greatest hits packages dominate the top ten making up all other new enteries. Gabrielle enters at three with hers, the Bee Gees with another collection of theirs at five, Rod Stewart at seven and quirky off-kilter pop journeymen Beautiful South at 10 with theirs.
