BLUR’s DAMON ALBARN has written the soundtrack to a brief forthcoming film detailing the process of movie-making.

Albarn has soundtracked ‘OnSet – the Short Film’, a one minute montage clip, distilled from behind-the-scenes snaps taken by photographer Greg Williams, on the set of 30 recent British films.

The 60-second Williams/Albarn collaboration will be broadcast as part of a larger film project on website [url=]www.stopforaminute.com early in 2001. The first film shown on the site, ‘OnSet – the Short Film’ will be followed on consecutive days by an additional one minute clip made by a different film-maker, until 30 are available to view. The films will then be shown later on cable television channel FilmFour with a selection of them making it to terrestrial Channel 4.

During the following months users of the site will be encouraged to contribute their own works.

Meanwhile, Williams is set to display his entire collection of Onset photos in an exhibition running in London’s Proud Gallery from late October through to December. OnSet, featuring, off-guard images of people such as Tim Roth, Ewan McGregor and Cate Blanchett, will run from October 25 to December 10. A book will also be published to coincide with the exhibition.
