Dummer selected for seat at next general election
Blur’s Dave Rowntree is to stand for the Labour Party in the next general election.
The prospective MP has been selected by the Cities Of London and Westminster Constituency Labour Party to contest the seat.
The seat is currently held by Conservative Mark Field, and is considered a safe seat for the party.
A staunch Labour campaigner, Rowntree stood as a councillor in the Conservative Marylebone High Street ward in Westminster City Council elections in April 2007 – however, he was not elected.
The drummer is currently training to be a barrister.
