NO DISTANCE LEFT TO RUN?

Drummer Dave Rowntree says he'd "love" to play live when the new album is released, but a long jaunt is out of the question...

BLUR drummer DAVE ROWNTREE has said he wants to play live when their new album is released – but has ruled out a massive tour.

Blur have decided to spend just over a month in Marrakesh with producer Fatboy Slim finishing their record, due for release early next year.

Speaking on the band’s official website, Rowntree said that he’d “love” to play live again, but added “I doubt we’ll ever tour exhaustively as we used to. We lead slightly calmer lives these days.”

Blur haven’t played live since their gig at the Royal Festival Hall in London in 2000.
