Tickets for Blur’s A-sides Wembley Arena date on December 11 go on sale tomorrow, (Tuesday September 14) at 9am.
The gig was originally announced by Damon Albarn on stage during Blur’s headlining set at this year’s Reading Festival.
The band will play a set consisting entirely of A-sides played in chronological order, following their set of B-sides at London’s Camden Electric Ballroom earlier this month.
The concerts coincide with the release of a Blur singles box-set, released on September 27 through Food. This celebrates ten years of Blur’s career together.
The occasion was also marked by a one-off exhibition at London’s Hoxton Square Lux Gallery this weekend. The exhibition charted the band’s history through sound, video and a variety of props and included a free jukebox playing all of the band’s 22 singles and complete B-sides. Some of the exhibits included the band’s record contract, NME front covers, personal musical instruments and original lyrics sheets.
All of Blur were present on Friday September 10 for the exhibition’s opening party. They were joined, amongst others, by George Dawes, Phil Daniels, Emmy-Kate Montrose of Rosita and Danny. from Supergrass.
Blur‘s singles in order are: ‘She’s So High’ ‘There’s No Other Way’ ‘Bang’ ‘Popscene’ ‘For Tomorrow’ ‘Chemical World’ ‘Sunday Sunday’ ‘Girls And Boys’ ‘To The End’ ‘Parklife’ ‘End Of A Century’ ‘Country Life’ ‘The Universal’ ‘Stereotypes’ ‘Charmless Man’ ‘Beetlebum’ ‘Song 2’ ‘On Your Own’ ‘MOR’ ‘Tender’ ‘Coffee + TV’
