nme.com will be the first website in the world where you can hear BLUR’S brand new single ‘MUSIC IS MY RADAR’ – a song “unlike anything they’ve done before”, according to bassist ALEX JAMES – tomorrow morning at 9.30am (BST).

The single is released on October 16 and was only finished last week. It’ll appear at the end of Blur’s forthcoming greatest hits collection, due out on October 30 also through Food/Parlophone. The album has been produced by Ben Hillier and the band themselves, and has been in the planning stages for much of the year.

As previously reported on nme.com, a limited edition of ‘Blur – Best Of’ will feature a bonus live CD, recorded at the London Wembley Arena in December last year during their 10th Anniversary Singles Night Tour.

‘Music Is My Radar’ replaces ‘Black Book’, a song premiered at Blur’s recent show as part of Scott Walker’s Meltdown Festival at London’s Royal Festival Hall, which was previously thought to be the track spearheading the greatest hits collection.

The track will be premiered live on Steve Lamacq show on Radio 1 tonight (5 September) – but hear it on the web first here.

Details are also expected shortly of new Blur video and DVD releases. Keep checking back to nme.com for full details.
