Bo Ningen, a London based band who have collaborated with Savages, are rumoured to be making an unlikely appearance in the forthcoming Zoolander sequel.
Ben Stiller, who plays dim-witted male model Derek Zoolander, posted a picture of the band on Instagram yesterday (March 20) along with the caption “Bo Ningen!! #Zoolander2”
Released in 2001, the original film followed Zoolander as he got sucked into a plot by corrupt fashion executives to assassinate the Prime Minister of Malaysia. It has gained a sizeable cult following in the years since its release. The sequel was officially announced at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month and is due for release in February 2016.
Stars Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson broke the news of the sequel by hitting the catwalk at the Maison Valentino show earlier this month (March 10) in character as Derek Zoolander and his modelling rival Hansel McDonald.
After meeting with Ben Stiller recently, the Mayor of Rome, Ignazio Marino, revealed last month (February) that Zoolander 2 will be filmed in and around the city’s Cinecittà Studios for 12 weeks in the spring.
Stiller has written the sequel’s script with actor/screenwriter Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2), who is also believed to be directing. Stiller’s wife Christine Taylor, who played fashion journalist Matilda Jeffries in the first film, has recently confirmed she is returning, while Will Ferrell is also rumoured to be reprising his role as fashion mogul Jacobim Mugatu from the original film.
Bo Ningen and Savages acts released the experimental ‘Words To The Blind’ in 2014. The Japanese avant garde outfit’s ‘III’ LP was also released last year and followed their self-titled 2010 debut and second album ‘Line The Wall’, released in 2012.
