Early Bob Dylan recordings up for grabs

Teenage tape to go under the hammer

Teenage recordings by Bob Dylan are to be auctioned off in Dallas in October.

The tape features four songs made by the singer in the 1950s while he was still living in Minnesota.

Dylan sings on three of the tracks, which also features his school friend Ric Kangas, and plays guitar on a fourth.

Two of the songs ’I Got A New Girl’ and ’I Got Trouble’ were included in Martin Scorsese‘s ‘No Direction Home’ documentary, with the latter released on the film’s soundtrack. The Dylan sung ’The Frog Song’ also appears on the tape.

The recordings, discovered by Kangas at home a few years ago, are expected to fetch up to $100,000 (£53,000), the BBC reports.

Dylan, who last saw his childhood friend backstage during a Memphis concert in 1974, has so far not commented on the sale.
