Jack White joins Bob Dylan onstage

White Stripes man guests with the legend two nights running

Jack White was invited to join Bob Dylan onstage two nights running in Nashville last week.

On the first of the legendary troubadour’s two-date stay at the Ryman Auditorium over Sept 19-20, White appeared with guitar to share vocals on Dylan‘s ‘Meet Me In The Morning’.

The following night he reappeared and was invited to duet on two songs, ‘One More Cup Of Coffee’ and ‘Outlaw Blues’.

Although other luminaries in the audience included Elvis Costello, John Prine and Alison Krauss (whose album of duets with Robert Plant, ‘Raising Sand’, is released next month), White was the only guest asked to join Dylan on stage.

The White Stripes have in the past covered a number of Dylan songs, including ‘Outlaw Blues’ and ‘One More Cup Of Coffee’.

White once observed: “I’ve got three fathers – my biological dad, God and Bob Dylan.”

An audience-shot clip of Dylan and White singing ‘One More Cup Of Coffee’ has already been posted on YouTube which you can view below.
