The 'Inside Llewyn Davis' soundtrack will come out on November 11 and also feature Justin Timberlake and Marcus Mumford
The soundtrack for the new Coen Brothers film Inside Llewyn Davis will be released on November 11.
The album has been produced by T Bone Burnett alongside Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, the same team behind the Grammy Award winning, multimillion selling O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack.
Made up of 14 tracks, the LP will feature a never-before-released Bob Dylan recording of his song ‘Farewell’, which was recorded during the sessions for his 1964 album, ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’. The album also features performances from Justin Timberlake, Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons and his wife, and star of the film, Carey Mulligan.
The film is loosely based on The Mayor Of MacDougal Street, the posthumous memoir of Dave Van Ronk, a cult US folk artist who had connections with Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell. It stars break-out actor Oscar Isaac as a singer-songwriter navigating the New York folk scene in 1961.
Inside Llewyn Davis won the second most prestigious prize, the Grand Prix Award, at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and opens in UK cinemas on January 14, 2014.
