Bob Dylan to make New York gallery debut with ‘Asia Series’ paintings

Exhibition will open at city's Gagosian Gallery later this month

A series of drawings and paintings by Bob Dylan are to be exhibited in New York later this month.

The legendary singer-songwriter’s Asia Series – 18 works created during his tour of the continent in 2009 and 2010 – will run at the Gagosian Gallery between September 20 and October 22.

According to Associated Press, the pieces depict landscape and architecture from Japan, China, Vietnam and Korea.

Last year, paintings by Dylan in the late ’80s and early ’90s were displayed in the Halcyon Gallery in London while 100 works from his Brazil Series were shown at Denmark’s National Gallery in 2009.

Meanwhile, Dylan is due to play a seven-date UK and Ireland tour next month. He will kick off the jaunt at Dublin’s O2 Arena (October 6) before moving on to gigs in Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham, Cardiff and Bournemouth.

He played his only UK festival show of the summer at the London Feis in June.
