Bob Dylan is opening his own music venue and distillery

Heaven's Door will be located in Nashville

Bob Dylan is set to open his own music venue and distillery in Nashville, it has been announced.

The Nobel Prize-winning musician launched his own whisky line, Heaven’s Door, last year. The new space will share the same name as his drink brand.

Heaven’s Door Distillery And Center For The Arts will open in the autumn of 2020 and will be located at 616 5th Avenue in downtown Nashville. According to the Associated Press, it will feature a “whisky library”, restaurant, and 360-capacity performance space.

Dylan’s paintings and metalwork sculptures will also be on display at the new venue, which was announced to mark the 50th anniversary of the musician’s ninth album, ‘Nashville Skyline’.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Martin Scorsese is directing a new concert film for Netflix, which follows Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue tour.

Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story will trace the famous tour, which spanned 1975 and 1976 and saw Dylan joined by an ensemble of collaborators and musicians, including Joan Baez, T-Bone Burnett, and Mick Ronson.

Netflix described the new film, which will feature on-camera interviews with the star, as “part documentary, part concert film, part fever dream”. No release date has been confirmed at present.

Meanwhile, Dylan will return to the UK in July to play a co-headline show with Neil Young at London’s British Summer Time Hyde Park.
