Music films ‘Marley’ and ‘Searching For Sugarman’ get Bafta nominations

Films made about the lives of Bob Marley and Rodriguez have been rewarded with nominations at this year’s Baftas.

The nominations for the 2013 British Academy Film Awards were revealed by actors Alice Eve and Jeremy Irvine at Bafta’s headquarters in London today (January 9), with both Marley and Searching For Sugarman nominated in the Best Documentary category.

Elsewhere, Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper, Daniel Day Lewis, Hugh Jackman and Joaquin Phoenix will battle it out for the title of Best Actor, while Jessica Chastain, Marion Cotillard, Jennifer Lawrence, Helen Mirren and Emmanuel Riva are in competition for the Best Actress prize.

Argo, Les Misérables, Life of Pi, Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty are all in contention for the Best Film accolade.
