BOBBY BROWN has been issued with a suspended 90-day prison sentence, after failing to pay child support.
The singer was sentenced on Tuesday (June 15) after missing three consecutive child support payments to his ex-wife Kim Ward.
The prison sentence was suspended as Brown made the payments in full on Monday, reports the Associated Press.
Speaking after the hearing Brown said: “I’m still trying, you know. Working, you know, and that’s the most I can do. I can work harder, you know, try to keep up with the payments.”
Brown was sentenced by Judge Paula Carey, in Norfolk County Family Court. Carey had already sentenced Brown in March to a day in prison for failing to pay child support in the region of $63,500, which he has now paid.
The star was also ordered to get a life insurance policy and start an education trust fund for his children, aged 12 and 14.
Brown told Carey in court that he has been denied life insurance, but he intends to start the fund soon.
The sentence will be imposed if Brown misses one more payment of $5,000 a month.
