Justin Vernon's band are due to debut new music as a Wisconsin festival next month (August)
The video, which shows music being played on a laptop while a variety of illustrations flash up on screen, is simply captioned #22days, which is the number of days until the band are due to debut new music at Eaux Claires Festival in Wisconsin.
Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon told fans in June that the band will play a set of entirely new music at Eaux Claires Festival, which begins on August 13, 22 days from today (July 22). It will be the first new material heard from the band since their self-titled album in 2011.
Vernon announced Bon Iver had been working on new material in February, after previously saying that the band were “winding down” back in 2012. He had initially said the band would not be performing new music at Eaux Claires Festival when the show was originally announced earlier this year, in an interview with Billboard.
Meanwhile, footage of Justin Vernon performing with his high school band has recently been uploaded to YouTube. The footage shows the band, who are called Mount Vernon, performing at a Battle of the Bands contest in Vernon’s hometown in Wisconsin in 1998.
