Justin Vernon and co are heading to Europe...
Bon Iver have been announced as the second headliners for next year’s NOS Alive festival in Portugal and Denmark’s Southside Festival.
The Justin Vernon band are the second act to be revealed for the Lisbon festival, after it was yesterday confirmed that The Cure will also take top billing at Nos Alive. As the below post confirms, they’ll top the bill on July 13.
Elsewhere, Bon Iver have also been announced for Norway’s Bergenfest.
Although Bon Iver are yet to release a follow-up to 2016’s ’22, A Million’, Justin Vernon recently collaborated with Eminem on ‘Fall’ – a track from his latest album Kamikaze.
It attracted significant backlash after Eminem referred to Tyler, The Creator as a “faggot”.
“Was not in the studio for the Eminem track”, Vernon later responded on Twitter when his involvement in the song was criticised.
“Came from a session with BJ Burton and Mike Will. Not a fan of the message, it’s tired. Asked them to change the track, wouldn’t do it.”
In a series of further tweets, Vernon said he thought Eminem is “one of the best rappers of all time” before adding: “This is not the time to criticise Youth, it’s the time to listen. To act. It is certainly not the time for slurs.”
