Stephanie Rose Bongiovi is due to appear in court at a later date
The daughter of Bon Jovi singer Jon Bon Jovi has been arrested on suspicion of heroin possession.
Nineteen-year-old Stephanie Rose Bongiovi was found unresponsive in a dormitory at Hamilton College in New York, after apparently overdosing, reports US gossip site TMZ. Police reportedly found a “small amount” of heroin alongside the singer’s daughter, plus paraphernalia and marijuana.
Bongiovi was later taken into custody and has been ordered to appear in court at a later date. She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and marijuana. A 21-year-old man was also arrested at the scene. Bongiovi’s father recently cut short a promotional trip to the UK to fly back to his native New Jersey, one of the areas of the US worst hit by Superstorm Sandy.
Bon Jovi are set to tour the world in 2013 as part of their ‘Because We Can’ tour, which will showcase tracks from their forthcoming new album ‘What About Now’, which is due in Spring 2013.
Bon Jovi will play:
Manchester Etihad Stadium (June 8)
Birmingham Villa Park (9)
Cardiff City Stadium (12)
Sunderland Stadium Of Light (13)
Glasgow Hampden Park (July 3)
