Bono and Geldof meet with Bush

Rockers discuss anti-poverty measures with US president

Bono and Bob Geldof met with US President George Bush yesterday (June 6) to discuss anti-poverty measures.

The two rocker-activists and Senegalese singer Youssou N’Dour met with Bush in Germany, prior to the G-8 summit meeting of industrialised nations.

Bono has been pressing world leaders to increase their countries’ commitments to aiding poorer countries.

Bush has praised Bono for his humanitarian work, calling him “an amazing guy,” and yesterday remarked, “Hanging out with good company, aren’t I?” reports the Associated Press.
