Shockwaves NME Awards host to star in BBC Boy George film

'Gavin & Stacey' star Mat Horne will play Culture Club's drummer in the new biopic

Former Shockwaves NME Awards host Mat Horne is set to star in a new BBC drama about the life of Boy George.

Actor Horne, best known for his role in Gavin & Stacey’, will play Culture Club drummer Jon Moss in the 90-minute film, titled Worried About The Boy. As well as being Boy George‘s bandmate, Moss famously had a tempestuous relationship with the singer in the ’80s.

BBC News reports that Marc Warren and Mark Gatiss are also set to star, with Douglas Booth taking the role of Boy George.

The drama portrays the transformation of Boy George, born George O’Dowd, from a cloakroom attendant to a glamorous icon.
