Court hears recordings from former Culture Club man
Boy George has admitted on tape that he handcuffed a male escort at his London home in 2007, but told the court that he did not intend on harming the man.
In a police recording played in court today (December 1), the singer, whose real name is George O’Dowd, admitted restraining Audun Carlsen with handcuffs, but denied assaulting him or swinging a chain at him.
O’Dowd said in the recording that he asked Carlsen to come to his apartment to ask him if he had tampered with his laptop on a previous visit, reports the Associated Press.
As previously reported, the former Culture Club frontman first appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London last week (November 24) to face charges of false imprisonment.
The court heard Carlsen managed to free himself from the restraints with which George had chained him up, before he fled in just his boxer shorts, trainers and a pair of handcuffs.
