The singer pleads not guilty to drugs charges
Boy George is due to appear in a New York court today (February 1) accused of cocaine possession.
The singer was arrested last October after police responding to a burglary call allegedly found the drugs in the George’s flat.
George, who is charged under his real name George O’Dowd has already entered a not guilty plea, with his lawyers explaining many people had been in the apartment while the former Culture Club frontman was entertaining and he did not know who the drugs belonged to.
Court papers suggested 13 bags of cocaine were found at the Manhattan apartment, BBC News reports.
The singer could face up to five-and-a-half years in prison if convicted.
