BOYZONE’s future has taken another strange turn today (December 13) with the news that the band’s much-touted 2001 tour will be going ahead – but not until the year’s end.
Speaking to BBC Radio 1, Shane Lynch stated, “We had a chat about the future and a tour’s looking possible for next November – everyone’s up for it.”
This could be just in time for members of the band who aren’t Ronan Keating. Mikey Graham’s solo career is yet to ignite public interest while the performance of Stephen Gately’s solo work, which some view as disappointing, led earlier this year to rumours that he would be dropped. Meanwhile Keith & Shane’s solo effort ‘Girl You Know It’s True’ – out this week – looks as if it may struggle to enter the Top 20.
Ironically, in the second part of NME.COM’s video interview with Keith & Shane, the duo blame their Boyzone friends for rushing into solo careers. To see the interview for yourself come back to NME.COM later today; to see the first part, click here.
