Brakes announce live album, UK tour and ticket details

Brighton collective back in action

Brakes have announced details of their upcoming UK tour and live album release.

Beginning in November, the band who are made up of former members of British Sea Power and The Electric Soft Parade, will play just four dates, including a hometown show at Brighton‘s Komedia on November 9.

The band have also announced the release date for their upcoming 20-track live album, which will be out on November 2 and is called ‘Rock Is Dodelijk’.

“The idea of this record was to try and capture both the essence of a classic live album and the roughness of a bootleg,” explained Brakes in a statement about the album.

The first half of the record is taken from a hometown gig at The Concorde in Brighton, while the band also revealed a little more about the rest of the record.

“The second half of the album, recorded in Cologne, shows the band absolutely as raw as it can be, from the audience’s point of view,” they explained. “While there are mistakes galore, it’s the most honest representation of the band live.”

Brakes will play:

Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach (November 8)
Brighton Komedia (9)
London Relentless Garage (10)
Leeds The Well (12)
