Flowers brought out special guest during performance at The Wiltern
Brandon Flowers was joined by special guest Neil Tennant as he performed a cover of Pet Shop Boys’ ‘Rent’ at a gig in Los Angeles last night (September 26).
Flowers was performing a solo date at The Wiltern when he introduced Tennant to the stage. Tennant sang and played acoustic guitar and he and Flowers performed the 1987 Pet Shop Boys single together. The duo have worked together before, with Tennant appearing on Flowers’ 2015 solo album ‘The Desired Effect’.
Earlier this week Flowers confirmed details of a one-off London show in November. He will return to the UK for a show at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on November 16. Tickets are on sale now.
A press release states that the gig will be “the last chance for UK fans to see him live until he next returns with The Killers”.
Flowers had previously told NME that ‘The Desired Effect’ may be his last solo record, adding that the project is “not a vanity project”.
On touring, he explained: “Being onstage without [The Killers] is different, but I try to look for the similarities rather than dwell on the differences because I need that comfort, I guess.”
