Jay-Z picks up International Male Solo Artist prize at Brit Awards 2010

New York rapper scoops the award at the London bash

Jay-Z has been named International Male Solo Artist at the Brit Awards 2010, which are being held at London‘s Earls Court tonight (February 16).

The rapper, who also performed ‘Empire State Of Mind’ at the event, took to the stage and saluted fans before collecting his award from former Spice Girl Mel B.

“There’s two major moments in my life here, across the pond. There was Glastonbury, we proved hip-hop could play anywhere,” he explained, before joking, “I also want to thank The Spice Girls because they inspired me!”
