FLOWER POWER!

Nothing surprises us with this band...

British Sea Power are to play at the CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW.

The band have confirmed they will play in a garden designed by Diarmuid Gavin, award-winning gardener and presenter of BBC television’s ’Homefront In The Garden’ (May 23).

However, the show won’t be open to the general public.

Guitarist Noble said: “It’s a lovely idea. Playing at the Chelsea Flower Show appeals to us and we hope to bring our own slant to this national institution.

”We’d like to think of it as similar to The Who deciding to pop a few rivets at the Henley Regatta in 1968. We get the impression this is Gavin’s approach as well. He seems like a fine fellow and he’s certainly got a fine head of hair. The British Sea Power rock garden it is then.”

The band release their new single, ’Please Stand Up’, on the same day.
