Britney Spears has announced that she’ll return to Las Vegas for a new residency at Park MGM’s Park Theatre.
The pop icon announced her extended stay in Sin City via a live stream that was broadcast live on Ellen DeGeneres’ YouTube channel after she teased the announcement last week.
The live stream showed panoramic shots of the Las Vegas strip, as well as eager fans who waited eagerly for Spears’ arrival.
When she eventually appeared, Spears ascended from below onto a stage at the MGM – while some of her most iconic moments were broadcast on a giant screen that spanned the whole front of the hotel.
However, her appearance was somewhat short lived – she waved at fans before disappearing into a waiting car once more.
“I am so happy to be returning to my second home – Las Vegas!” Spears confirmed in a statement.
“I’m so excited for my fans to see it! It’s going to be so much fun being back on stage and I can’t wait to perform at Park Theatre.”
It comes after her Piece of Me residency, which launched at Planet Hollywood in 2013. Although originally envisaged as a 50 date run over two years, huge demand meant that Spears performed for a staggering 250 shows.
The residency eventually concluded in December 2017.
The new residency is titled Britney: Domination and will launch in February 2019, running until August of that year. Tickets for the shows go on sale on 26 October.
