Pop singer updates fans on her follow-up to 2013's 'Britney Jean' album
Britney Spears has promised fans her new album is coming “very soon”.
The singer dropped the album’s lead single ‘Make Me…’, a collaboration with rapper G-Eazy, on July 15 and saw it debut at Number 17 in the US. However, she has still yet to announce the album’s title or release date.
Asked for an update during a Tumblr Q&A with her fans, the singer replied: “Soon… Very soon!”
She also said she “really explored some new things” on the upcoming album, her follow-up to 2013’s ‘Britney Jean’ LP, which spawned the UK Top Ten hit ‘Work Bitch’. She added that the upcoming video for ‘Make Me…’ will feature “lots of female empowerment”.
Meanwhile, Britney Spears recently joined Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, P!nk, and 20 other artists in contributing vocals to a charity single raising money for the victims of the Orlando mass shooting. Proceeds from ‘Hands’, an original song, will go towards the helping the families of victims pay for medical care and counselling, and will also be used to fund education.
The song was written by Justin Tranter (co-writer of Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’), Julia Michaels and Bloodpop and co-produced by Mark Ronson. It also features Gwen Stefani, Jason Derulo, Halsey, Ty Herndon, Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons, Adam Lambert, The Trans Chorus of Los Angeles, MNEK, Alex Newell, Mary Lambert, Prince Royce, Jussie Smollett, Nate Ruess and RuPaul.
