Details of 20 year-old accident emerge

Britney Spears‘ mum Lynne accidentally ran over and killed a 12 year-old boy when she was 20, it has emerged.

Lynne is said to be “still haunted” by the death of Anthony Winters in her home town of Kentwood, Louisiana in 1975.

The boy was playing with his bicycle outside his home when Lynne Spears turned the corner and knocked him down, reports The Daily Mail.


She was unable to avoid him because on oncoming traffic on the other side of the road.

Spears‘ spokesperson Louise Taylor explained: “The boy died at the hospital as a result of his injuries, Lynne realised the boy was struck immediately, and to this day is grieved by the Winters‘ loss of their son.”

Winters‘s younger brother Chris recalled the incident for the National Enquirer, explaining: “I was about three or four, but I remember Anthony as my big brother. I was in the house. He was outside on his bike, a two-wheeler.

“He went into the street and the car went over him. I know my mother ran outside and was screaming. My folks told me years later Anthony died instantly. It affected my family pretty bad.”
