Leaked financial documents show Britney's love for a bargain – she spent nearly £50 at 99c stores
Britney Spears spent £4.4 million at fast food outlets and bargain stores last year, according to leaked financial documents.
TMZ claim to have obtained the singer’s financial records for 2012, which show she frittered almost half of her £9 million allowance (she’s under a court-appointed conservatorship) for the year on some surprising goods. In particular, she set up tabs at a number of fast food stores including Subway, Domino’s Pizza, McDonalds, In-N-Out Burger, Wetzel’s Pretzels, IHOP, 7-11, El Pollo Loco, Starbucks, Coffee Bean and Romano’s Macaroni Grill.
Receipts also showed that Spears had spent sums of £41.26 and £7.71 at bargain stores 99 Cents plus and Pay 99 Cents respectively, in addition to splashing out £2,200 on Christmas lights and £21,988 on personal grooming.
However, her accounts also showed that her finances, which are now managed by her father, were still in a healthy state, with the singer’s conservatorship valued at £23.5 million – a figure which doesn’t include the £44 million she made from touring her last album ‘Femme Fatale’ and her stint as a judge on the US X Factor, which netted her £9.7 million.
Speaking recently on Twitter, meanwhile, Spears has hinted that her new album is nearly finished. Referencing her progress on the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Femme Fatale’, she wrote: “It’s coming sooner than you think 😉 But this album is for my diehard fans so it needs to be perfect!!!!”
In May of this year, the singer debuted her new track ‘Ooh La La’, which is taken from the upcoming The Smurfs 2 soundtrack – scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to listen.
