Watch Britney Spears inhale helium and sing a Taylor Swift song

Jonathan Ross sets the pop singer a challenge during her appearance on his chat show tonight

Britney Spears takes on a “helium challenge” during her appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show tonight (October 1).

During her interview with Ross, the host asks the pop star to inhale a balloon’s worth of helium, then sing a song of her choice. Although Ross gives Spears the option of singing one of her own hits, she picks Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ instead – watch the clip from tonight’s episode below.

Spears’ appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show was recorded earlier this week during her trip to London perform at Apple Music Festival, her first gig in the UK in five years.

Britney Spears performed all of her greatest hits including ‘…Baby One More Time’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Gimme More’ during her 90-minute set at the intimate Roundhouse venue. Read the NME review here.

The pop icon, who dropped ninth album ‘Glory’ last month, recently told NME that she has stopped being a “people pleaser” with her music,

“Honestly, this is the first project where I’ve really been hands-on,” she said of ‘Glory’. “I was really specific about who I worked with, and I’ve been learning to say no. I’m a people pleaser, so that’s hard for me. Even if I don’t like something, I’ll do it just to make a person happy. I made sure this album was everything I wanted it to be. I was really selfish with it.”
