A Britney Spears biopic has been confirmed to be in the works.
US cable network Lifetime will produce the TV movie and Natasha Bassett (Hail, Caesar!) will reportedly play the singer.
Lifetime, The Hollywood Reporter notes, described the two-hour movie as showing the “tumultuous true story” of Spears’ career, from starting out as a teenager in Louisiana and her relationship with Justin Timberlake to her marriages and personal struggles.
The star has not given the movie her approval, however. Entertainment Weekly reports that a representative for Spears told them she will not be contributing to it “in any way, shape or form… nor does it have her blessing.”
Spears’ ninth album ‘Glory’ is released on Friday and she is set to appear on The Late Late Show With James Corden for Carpool Karaoke today (August 25).
She will also perform at the MTV VMAs on Sunday.
