Britney Spears confirmed for ‘Carpool Karaoke’ with James Corden

Segment will air later in August

Britney Spears has announced that she will appear in James Corden’s popular ‘Carpool Karaoke’ segment later this month.

The segment features on Corden’s Late Late Show in the US and has become a viral hit since its launch. It sees famous celebrities, often singers, singing in a car while Corden drives them around. The likes of Adele, Justin Bieber and Michelle Obama have all made ‘Carpool Karaoke’ appearances.

James Corden recently claimed that Kanye West keeps bailing on his planned ‘Carpool Karaoke’ appearance.

Meanwhile, a standalone Carpool Karaoke series is coming to Apple Music without Corden as host.

The streaming service has commissioned 16 episodes of the popular segment from The Late Late Show With James Corden. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series’ host will be announced shortly, and Corden is not expected to take part.

The new episodes, which will air first exclusively on Apple Music, will be added to the streaming service weekly, with episode one expected to debut “soon”.

Ben Winston, the executive producer of The Late Late Show With James Corden, whose production company will be involved in making the new series, said in a statement: “We couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with Apple Music on this exciting new series of Carpool Karaoke. The joy of Carpool is both the intimacy it creates, while seeing the love our passengers have for music. Where better to showcase that than with Apple Music?”
